PowerMax from Coherent are sensors for measuring the power of continuous lasers or long pulse lasers. Thermophile sensors use the thermocouple principle, where laser radiation is incident on an absorber layer and converted into heat. An electrical voltage is then generated between this absorber layer and the heat sink.
This section lists all sensors for measuring laser beam power with USB or RS-232 interface where no meter is needed for measurement, but can be connected directly to a PC.
Variants
- Passive air-cooled, so-called convection
- Actively air-cooled, a fan with external power supply is connected to the heat sink
- Water/liquid cooled, these need to be connected to an external cooling circuit
