KOHERAS ADJUSTER

The ADJUSTIK coheras from NKT Photonics are a series of fiber lasers characterized by an extremely narrow spectral line and very low noise characteristic. The lasers are based on the DFB (Distributed Feedback Laser) design. The very robust compact design and the high lifetime allow the lasers to be used even in harsh working conditions. The ADJUSTIK version includes its own power supply, communication interface and the possibility of mounting in a standard rack. Depending on the selected model, the output power of the ADJUSTIK laser ranges from 10 mW to 40 mW. The amplified version of the ADJUSTIK HP provides outputs from 200 mW to 2 W.

In addition, thanks to the manufacturing technology, each laser can be configured in terms of wavelength selection to within two tenths of a nanometer. The possible spectral ranges are listed in the following overview table.

X15: Erbium-doped fiber laser enabling output in the wavelength range 1535-1580 nm (1545-1565 nm for HP version). The X15 features extremely low phase noise, low intensity noise and a very narrow linewidth (<0.1 kHz). It is often used for interferometric sensor applications requiring tens of kilometers of coherence length.

E15: Erbium-doped fibre laser enabling output in the wavelength range 1535-1580 nm (1545-1565 nm for HP version). The E15 features very low phase noise, low intensity noise and a very narrow linewidth (<0.1 kHz). It is often used for interferometric sensor applications requiring tens of kilometres of coherence length.

Y10: Ytterbium-doped fiber laser enabling output in the wavelength range 1030-1120 nm (1060-1075 nm for HP version) with narrow spectral linewidth and low intensity noise. This laser is commonly used for laser stabilization, atomic physics/metrology, spectroscopy, fusion energy, replacement of conventional Nd:YAG lasers, and many other applications.

T20 HP: The Thulium-doped T20 HP laser has been designed to excite barium ions at 1762.17 nm. It is mainly used for quantum applications such as quantum sensing, atom cooling, qubit manipulation, etc.

Functions

  • PM output. This may be required whenever the laser output needs to be externally modulated or frequency converted.
  • Temperature Frequency Tuning: Koheras lasers are equipped with a basic output frequency (wavelength) temperature tuning capability, allowing the laser to be stabilized to specific wavelengths within the available range.
  • This feature can be useful for applications requiring higher wavelength stability than that provided by a free-running laser. The feature allows the output wavelength of the laser to be "locked" to an external reference source such as an atomic transition level or interferometer, for example. Tuning is handled by a piezo element.
