Thorlabs Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSA) use the Fourier transform to obtain spectra, and are based on a scanning Michelson interferometer configuration. There are 6 basic models available that can cover the total range 350 nm - 12 µm. Each of the models functions both as a precision wavelength meter (0.1 ppm resolution) and as a broadband spectrometer (spectral resolution of 7.5 GHz or 1.9 GHz). In addition to the collimated beam input (free-space arrangement), these instruments are also equipped with a fiber-optic input with FC/PC connector. The OSA is delivered together with a laptop/PC with pre-installed control software.
