The task was to be able to measure magnetic properties in the temperature range of 1.9 to 400 K and in a magnetic field up to 9 Tesla. Specifically, the possibility of measuring the temperature dependence of magnetization (and thus magnetic susceptibility) of nanostructured materials, hysteresis loops (i.e. field dependence of magnetization of nanomaterials) and measurement of alternating magnetic susceptibility.
A system with a cooling device that does not use liquid coolants, such as liquid He or liquid N2, was found to be ideal, thereby significantly reducing operating costs.
Another requirement was the ability to rotate the samples using a rotor to different positions relative to the magnetic field, which is useful for studying the magnetic anisotropy of nanostructured materials.
