TSI launches its latest model of bubble generator, the BG-1000, which is capable of generating more than 107 air bubbles per second from a mixture of water and surfactants (particle concentration at the nozzle outlet corresponds to 20,000 bubbles/cm3) with a mean diameter of 15 µm, which serve as seed (entrained) particles for planar and volumetric PIV measurements of flow velocity, e.g. In both closed and open space wind tunnels, two-phase flow, boundary layer turbulence measurements and many other applications.
The medium diameter of the generated bubbles ensures high reflection intensity of the light beams leading to high quality PIV results and the ability to track the direction of the fluid flow even around smaller structures without affecting the nature of the flow.
Advantages:
-
Ability to track fluid flow seamlessly around small structures
-
High reflectivity of light beams
-
Capable of planar PIV measurements in fields of view larger than 1 x 1 m and volumetric PIV measurements in volumes larger than 200 mm3
-
Generation of a large number of air bubbles (more than107 air bubbles per second)
-
Bubble lifetime of more than 30 minutes
-
Non-toxic and non-sticky bubbles
-
Low operating costs (soap bubbles are filled with air)
