Coherent is launching Amplify on December 10 - a series of online conferences that will focus on educating and connecting researchers, engineers and industrial users in photonics. Topics for the conferences will include developments and trends in materials processing, life sciences instrumentation or microelectronics. The inaugural conference, focusing on neuroscience and cell biology, will be opened by Eric Betziga, Ph.D., winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, specifically for his contributions to fluorescence microscopy in 2014.
Individual Amplify conferences will run for an average of half a day and will allow attendees to connect with the experts behind the latest developments in their field. These sessions will include lectures, technology presentations, talks and roundtable discussions, giving conference attendees the opportunity to interact directly with international experts. Amplify also aims to recreate some of the informal and social aspects of conferences that experts may currently lack, such as networking, connecting workers from different parts of the world and providing a platform for sharing ideas.
"Scientific research and technology development are highly collaborative processes today, so it is essential that experts and colleagues from around the world meet, network and share their achievements," said David Gee, Coherent's Executive Director of Marketing. "As a leader in photonics, Coherent is committed to supporting users of photonics technology and providing them with opportunities for personal development."
