The simplest type of CCD sensor in terms of operation and manufacturing, it contains a parallel shift register - a surface of pixels on which photons are incident. The created charge must then be shifted vertically, i.e. line by line, towards theReadout Register. Then the horizontal shift towards the amplifier (output amplifier) and the ADC converter(On-chip Charge to Voltage Conversion) takes place. The main disadvantage is the slow readout, smearing (smearing during readout), or the need to use a mechanical shutter or synchronous pulses to eliminate smearing and limit acquisition during readout.
