Coherent's new laser marking subsystem uses a powerful 8W UV laser that enables high-speed marking of polycarbonate, Plexiglas, PMMA and other plastics. In addition, the PowerLine E 8 QT combines modular, high-performance scanning optics and a sophisticated software interface to provide high operational flexibility. This facilitates the realization of complex tasks such as 3D marking of curved surfaces, marking on the fly, engraving and serialization.

Its ability to quickly create high-contrast marks on a variety of clear and coloured plastics makes the PowerLine E 8 QT an attractive choice for system manufacturers in the microelectronics, medical device, automotive, packaging or home appliance industries.

The PowerLine E 8 QT is a compact, air-cooled Class IV subsystem designed for easy integration, operational reliability and simple maintenance. In addition to the laser and scanning optics, the system also features an integrated power sensor, mechanical safety shutter and positioning laser. The system components are housed in a sealed enclosure that uses filtered, recirculated air to minimize external contaminants. When serviced, various system components such as the power sensor, cleaning unit, moisture sensors and sensing optics can be replaced in the field without exposing other system components to contamination. This makes it unnecessary to return the unit to the factory for almost all servicing.

Coherent offers system integrators extensive application support for test sample testing and process recipe development. After commissioning, all system parameters can be easily adapted to specific tasks.
